The First Thanksgiving – Discovery Pack
3-POSTER DISCOVERY PACK

Three Posters. One Remarkable Story. A World of Discovery.

Step beyond the familiar Thanksgiving table and invite young learners to discover the people, places, journeys, and events surrounding the harvest gathering of 1621.

The The First Thanksgiving — Free 3-Poster Discovery Pack from Bright Grove Press is a beautifully illustrated introduction to this fascinating chapter of early American history. Created especially for curious children, each infographic combines engaging historical artwork with clear, accessible facts that encourage children to look closely, ask questions, and keep exploring.

Begin aboard The Mayflower, following its challenging 66-day Atlantic crossing in 1620. Young explorers can investigate the ship, trace its voyage from England, discover what life was like for passengers at sea, and learn about the difficult conditions they encountered.

Next, meet The Wampanoag People, whose ancestors had lived in the region for thousands of years before the English colonists arrived. Explore Wampanoag homeland, seasonal life, homes, foods, agriculture, tools, skills, and leadership while discovering the knowledge and relationships that shaped events at Plymouth.

Then uncover Surprising Facts About the 1621 Harvest Gathering. Was pumpkin pie served? How long did the gathering last? Who attended? What foods were actually documented? How was the event different from Thanksgiving celebrations today? This fact-filled poster helps children separate familiar traditions from what historical evidence tells us about 1621.

Together, the three posters create a visual journey:

THE VOYAGE → THE PEOPLE → THE GATHERING

Use them for homeschool history lessons, elementary classrooms, Thanksgiving units, library displays, learning centers, family discussions, history projects, educational wall displays, or quiet independent discovery.

Print one for a child who loves history. Add one to a classroom or homeschool space. Share one with a fellow parent or educator. Give a printed poster as an educational gift—or enjoy the complete set together as a mini visual-history collection.
